AC/DC Bassist Cliff Williams Sells Fort Myers Home

AC/DC are spending a lot of time on the road these days, and one member of the band has one less home, but a whole lot of money to come back to. According to News-Press.com, AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams has sold his Fort Myers home for a cool $6,995,000.

The Florida mansion, located along the Gulf Harbor riverfront in Fort Myers, went for the full asking price. Williams and his wife Georgeanne purchased the 13,000-square-foot property five years ago for $5.12 million. They put the home on the market two months ago. The home includes seven rooms and seven full bathrooms, two half baths and two guesthouses.

The prior owner to Williams, a real estate tycoon, had initially put the home on sale for $17 million in 2005, but ran into problems selling it when the market began to decline. The estate asking price dropped to just shy of $13 million, but still didn’t get any nibbles. The home was then taken off the market and was scheduled to be auctioned in 2010. But Williams and his family made a last minute offer before the auction took place and ended up with the estate.

AC/DC will be out of the road as they just began the world tour for their latest album Rock or Bust this past spring. Keep an eye out for the band on the road coming to a town near you for the remainder of the year.
