NEW YORK (TIP): Pandemic forced a scale down of the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. Here, too, because of the severity of Covid-19 and the CDC and New York State guidelines, the Republic celebrations have by and large been virtual. Of the many celebrations that The Indian Panorama came to know of, only one celebration seemed to have violated the guidelines. At the Hempstead Town Republic day celebrations, social distancing norm was not observed. We are giving below brief report of the celebrations in New York area. Consulate General of India, New York celebrated 72nd Republic Day at the Consulate premises. Consul General Randhir Jaiswal hoisted the national flag and read out the President of India’s address to the nation. Deputy Consul General Shatrughna Sinha also spoke on the occasion and thanked all for their presence.
