LONDON (TIP): The daughter of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was threatened at gunpoint in London in an attempted robbery. Kathryn Blair, a 29-year-old barrister was held at gunpoint by two men in a posh locality of central London on Wednesday. She escaped unhurt. Kathryn was walking down Marylebone Street with her boyfriend when two men, one of armed with a gun, demanded cash and jewellery. Blair never offered resistance but the robbers suddenly fled empty-handed. She and her friends are safe and were left unhurt. Scotland Yard confirmed it happened at around 8.30pm. People have raised serious questions on how the daughter of the former leader could be strolling around without any security cover. The spokesman said, “The victims were a man and a woman, the suspects were two males”. Sources said the robbers could be returning after committing another robbery at a nearby house half-an-hour earlier. The police spokesman added, “On both occasions a firearm was seen but not used – no shots were fired. None of the victims were injured and nothing was stolen during the incidents.” The first incident occurred in Boston Place at 8 pm and involved a female victim. Officers from Westminster borough are investigating both attempted robberies. No arrests have been made so far. The Blair family has been in the news recently for the high profile wedding of Tony’s Blair’s son. Kathryn had just returned to London after spending the weekend with father Tony and mother Cherie in their country home at Buckinghamshire after the wedding of her brother Euan.
