Spoke of a “New India” with a bright future in next five years
NEW DELHI (TIP): Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke for nearly 90 minutes in his 10th Independence Day address on August 15 where he highlighted his government’s achievements as well as various challenges and opportunities before the nation. Addressing the nation on the 77th Independence Day, the Prime Minister urged fellow citizens not to lose the opportunity to realize the country’s potential as the decisions and sacrifices made in this period will impact the country for the next 1,000 years. Mr. Modi attacked the opposition over issues of corruption, dynastic politics and appeasement.
India is at a decisive turning point and has the strength to shape the new world order that was emerging in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, Mr. Modi said on August 15 and assured the countrymen of a “New India” with a bright future in next five years. The Prime Minister said the government will launch ‘Vishwakarma Yojana’ next month with an allocation of ₹13,000 crore to ₹15,000 crore for those with traditional skills. The scheme will be launched next month, on Vishwakarma Jayanti.
He added that the government will soon launch a scheme to provide relief in bank loans to those dreaming of their own house in cities. Mr. Modi said his government will soon launch the scheme for middle-class families living in cities but do not own a house. While it was his last Independence Day speech ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election, Prime Minister Modi exuded confidence that he will address the nation from the Red Fort next year to list out the progress on the promises he had made to the people.
