NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on December 21pronounced its order on framing of charges againstformer Commonwealth Games Organising Committee(OC) Chairman Suresh Kalmadi and 10 others in agames-related graft case.Kalmadi along with CWG OC Secretary General LalitBhanot has been charged for criminal conspiracy undersection 120(B), cheating (section 420), forgery (section 468& 471) of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention ofCorruption Act.Special CBI Judge Talwant Singh had on November 21slated for today the pronouncement of order on chargesin the case also involving former as an accused in thecase.Besides Kalmadi and Bhanot, nine others have beencharge-sheeted by the CBI for allegedly “illegally”awarding a contract to install Timing, Scoring andResults system for the 2010 CWG to Swiss Timing at aninflated rates causing a loss of over Rs 90 crore to thepublic exchequer.
