School girl ‘kidnapped, raped’ and murdered in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA, September 3: An eighteen year old girl was allegedly kidnapped, suspected to be raped later and then murdered before killers dumped her body in Sidhwan canal here at Barewal area. Police and family members recovered dead body of the deceased with injury marks from the Sidhwan canal near Hydel project in Barewal area whereas her bag containing books, clothes and shoes were recovered from Jawaddi Hydel plant.

Family of the deceased meanwhile said that they had no enmity with anyone and have nor zeroed in on anybody as a suspect. “Police should investigate the matter thoroughly and bring culprits to book”, demanded father of the deceased. Neighbours of the deceased said that she was very nice girl and would come to home immediately after school and go out with her mother only.

Senior police officers including additional deputy commissioner police (ADCP) Jasdev Singh Sidhu and ACP (Assistant Commissioner of Police) Atam Park also visited the family of the deceased.

ACP (Atam Park) Ramandeep Singh said that the girl had gone to her school in the morning on Wednesday and didn’t return. He added that she was found to be murdered later. Asked whether the girl was raped before being murdered, ACP said that things will become clear only after the post mortem report is received by police.
