BRAMPTON (TIP): Shots were fired outside the residence of Punjabi singer Prem Dhillon in Brampton, Canada allegedly by a member of Jaipal Bhullar gang.
Alleged gang member Jenta Kharad who is also an associate of wanted gangster Arsh Dala, took credit for the attack, referencing the late singer Sidhu Moosewala and jailed gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, reports TOI.
A social media post released by the gangster accused Dhillon of betraying Moosewala after his death and warned of further consequences. Dhillon, known for hits like Boot Cut, Old Skool, and Majha Block, is the latest Punjabi artist to face such threats.
Similar incidents have occurred in the past, including shootings outside the residences of singers AP Dhillon and Gippy Grewal in Canada, allegedly linked to gang rivalries. Premjeet Singh Dhillon, known as Prem Dhillon, is a Punjabi singer from Canada. He was born on January 4, 1995, in Amritsar. He made his debut in the music industry with the single ‘Chan Milondi’. He gained fame with his song ‘Boot Cut’, which had over 37 million views upon its release. In 2020, he released ‘Old Skool’, featuring Sidhu Moosewala and Nseeb. In April, his song ‘Jatt Hunde Aa’, debuted at number 38 on the Apple Music chart in India.
