PRINCETON, NJ (TIP): A heartfelt and inspiring evening unfolded at Trinity Church, Princeton, NJ, where Kuleen Singh and Kunwar Singh hosted a remarkable fundraiser in support of the Pokhrama Foundation. This event brought together a community dedicated to transforming the lives of underprivileged children in rural India through education.

 A Vision Born in Bihar

At the center of this movement is Ajay Singh, a visionary whose roots trace back to the small village of Pokhrama in Lakhisarai district, Bihar. Now a successful pharmaceutical entrepreneur in the United States, Ajay’s journey of service began when he realized that the education his parents had sacrificed so much to provide him was the key to his own success. Aware of the countless bright children in his village who lacked access to education, Ajay was moved to take action.

Building a Sustainable Educational Model Ajay Singh emphasized during the event that the Pokhrama Foundation is committed not just to providing education but to creating a holistic environment for learning. The Pokhrama Foundation Academy currently educates 325 children across five villages in Lakhisarai. The Foundation’s efforts have been particularly focused on encouraging girls’ education; just last year, of the 57 students admitted, 32 were girls. Additionally, the Foundation runs a continuing education program for high school dropouts, preparing them for university entrance exams.
