Arya Samaj of Long Island to celebrate Vaisakhi on April 30

HICKSVILLE, NY (TIP): The Arya Samaj of Long Island was formed on June 17, 2006 with the  objective of extending  the Vedic Heritage for the benefit of the Hindu Community at large. Almost all Hindu Festivals are celebrated by Samaj along with the weekly satsangs.  Some of the festivals which ASLI celebrates include  Vasant Panchami,  Shiv Ratri & Rishi Bodh UTSAV,  Holi (Festival of Colors) , Ram Navami, Vaisakhi, KrishnaJanmashtami, Deepavali. & Rishi Nirvana Utsav, and  Swami Shradhanand Balidan Divas.Among other occasions celebrated are Children’s Day,  Republic Day & Independence Day. Besides the regular yajna, Yajur Ved Maha Yajna and Nav Varsh Yajna are also organized.

ASLI has been celebrating Vaisakhi since 2007. Mr. Veer S. Mukhi informed The Indian Panorama that Vaisakhi this year is being celebrated at a large scale in a school auditorium capacity of 400+ with the intention  to spread  India’s rich tradition and culture. Invitations have been extended to all communities.

Vaisakhi – a joyous Indian Spring Festival-celebration has been organized by ASLI on Saturday, April 30 from 6 PM to 9PM at Hicksville Middle School, 215 Jerusalem Avenue, Hicksville, NY 11801. The Sikh martial art Gatka , electrifying Punjabi dance Bhangra and some other entertainments are a part of the celebrations.
