Democratic District Leader Dr. Neeta Jain organized a Vigil for fallen NYPD heroes

NEW YORK (TIP): Hindu Center Inc. and International Ahimsa Foundation organized a candlelight vigil and interfaith prayers at Hindu Center Inc. Flushing, NY. Tribute  Ceremony was organized by Democratic District Leader Dr. Neeta Jain at Hindu Center for our fallen NYPD heroes Detective Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora, who lost their lives in line of duty. A record number of police officers from 109 and 107 precincts attended the Vigil.

Prayers were started by Head Priest of Hindu Center Dr. K. P. Dixit followed by Jain prayer recited by Dr. Neeta Jain, Rev. Dr. Frank Kaufman from Twelve Gates Communities, Imam Abdel Ghani Benyahya from Muslim Center of New York, Ravi Vaidyanaat Shivcharya from Hindu Temple Society of North America, Dr. Vipul Patel from BAPS, Guru Dileepji from UN, Raghbir Singh Subhanpur from Gurudwara Baba Makhan Shah,  Richmond Hill, Detective Rudy from Desi Society of NYPD. Vigil was also attended by Consul Community Affairs Mr. Vijay Krishnan from Consulate  General of India in New York,  and a representative from Assemblyman David Weprin.

Dr. Urmilesh Arya,  National President of AIA stressed the need of nonviolence and gun control. Dr. Ravindra Goyal president of Hindu Center Inc. assured the NYPD officers that our community is there any time they need us. Dr. Jain also said that it is a partnership between community and our law enforcement. Officers. We need to work together to keep both of us safe. Precinct 109 Commanding Officer deputy Inspector John O’Connell Inspector thanked for support of Community. Commanding officer from precinct 107 Deputy Inspector Kevin advised to say hello and greet when you see a police officer. All prayed to Almighty to rest both brave souls in Peace and give strength to both families to bear tremendous loss.
