INWOOD, N.Y. (TIP): Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) joined with the Inwood community on Wednesday, June 26 to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new residential building geared toward veterans and first responders.

Situated near the Long Island Railroad station at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Russell Place, the five-story, 48-unit building is the vision of Rev. Isaiah Moultrie, Sr., a retired U.S. Marine, and the construction is being spearheaded by his son, Isaiah Jr., a developer. The 11.7-acre site where the complex is being developed formerly housed Rev. Moultrie’s church prior to his retirement.

“For generations, the Moultrie family has dedicated itself to serving the Inwood community, and this latest endeavor continues that tradition by supporting Inwood’s ongoing revitalization and meeting the housing needs of our brave veterans and first responders,” Legislator Solages said. “It was a privilege to witness this full-circle moment come to fruition in our community, and I wish the Moultrie family tremendous success on this venture.”
