NEW YORK (TIP): Long Island Indo American Lions Club organized a gala to raise funds for charitable causes. Speaking on the occasion, Indu Gajwani, Charter Founder President said that she was grateful to her team who made it possible to take up charitable projects. She detailed the projects done in the past. They included donations to Sunrise Associates, Elmhurst Hospital Hope Clinic Oncology department, South Nassau Community Hospital Oncology for cancer affected children. Backpacks were distributed among schools. Food for the needy was donated in churches in USA as well as in India. Blankets were donated to Veterans in New York as well as in India. Winter jackets were distributed among the needy in Queens and Long Island. She also spoke about a current project of collecting used eyeglasses and donate them to the needy in underdeveloped countries.
Indu Gajwani thanked supporters and donors for their generosity.
She also thanked the Executive Committee, Event Chair, Project Chairs, Program Coordinators, & all the members for their Commendable Services.
