NEW YORK (TIP): Lord Raj Loomba CBE ( Commander of the Order of British Empire) & Lady Veena Loomba visited Goutami Eye Institute Rajahmundry, a premier eye institute run by the Eye Foundation of America.
London based Lord Raj Loomba is Founder and Chairman of the Loomba Foundation, a UN accredited global charitable organization, which promotes the fundamental freedoms and human rights of widows and their children around the world.
Dr. V. K. Raju, an eminent ophthalmologist based in West Virginia, USA ,who is the chairman of the Goutami Institute explained to the visitors that the main thrust of the Institute was to provide eyecare to the less privileged , and mainly children. In fact, Dr. Raju said he was passionately committed to work for a world without childhood blindness.
Dr. Kumar, who is the head of the Institute, told the visitors that the Institute not only examined patients but also provided them the treatment and even spectacles free of cost. Lord and Lady Loomba were deeply impressed to see for themselves the humanitarian work being undertaken by the Institute. The couple was accompanied by, among others, Deepak Dwivedi, Chairman and Chief Editor, The Blitz and Sandeep Saxena, the editor.
