The India Day Parade of Long Island is set for August 27

HICKSVILLE, NY (TIP): The date for holding the 12th annual India Day Parade of Long Island has been announced: Sunday, August 27, 2023. Preparations are in full swing to celebrate India’s landmark 76 years of Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), IDP USA, organizers of the parade, have said. Prominent community leader Deepak Bansal has returned as President for a second time (after leading the parade in 2021), along with businessman Vimal Goyal (President 2022-23). Bansal requested all Indian-origin organizations, community groups and religious institutions in Long Island and New York to participate in the parade joyfully and make it a success. “We are one community – proud and united,” he said. More details about the parade route, Grand Marshall and celebrity guests will be announced as they become available. The Curtain Raiser will be held in a few weeks.
