JAIPUR (TIP): As the news alert went viral that an Indian-American Technology Executive Parag Agrawal has become the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Twitter, people in Rajasthan specially of Dargah city of Ajmer got thrilled, joyous and found links of his birth to childhood. Parag was born at JLN Hospital in Ajmer on May 21, 1984 in an ordinary family in which his grandfather Ramchandra Agrawal was a worker in a shop and lived in rented house at Khajana Gali, according to a functionary of Agrawal Samaj, Sudhir Gupta. While Parag’s father Ramgopal Agrawal and mother Mrs. Shashi had schooling in Ajmer. Ramgopal has been a scientist at Department of Atomic Energy, BARC Mumbai, and mother was Professor at Veer Mata Jijabai Technological Institute in Mumbai. They lived for a couple of years in the lanes of Ghee Mandi area of Naya Bazaar in the rented house. They later moved to Mumbai in 1986-87. Agrawal has earned is B. Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Bombay in 2005. He pursued his Ph.D. in computer science from Standford University. Luckily when this announcement was made his parents had come to Ajmer and Bhilwara to attend a family function. Despite trying to contact them on their mobile, they were not available for comments to media. Parag’s Nanihal (paternal grandfather house) is in Bhilwara’s Gulmandi Area. Ajmer’s Agrawal Samaj expects that one day Parag will share his achievements with them, Sudhir said.
