DALLAS (TIP): On June 4, 2022, BAPS Charities in Dallas, TX, held In the Joy of Others: Walk | Run. The event was organized to support Susan G. Komen. Households and people of all ages took part, from 7-year-old first-time walkers to senior citizens, with over 1100 members of the community participating in total. “Supporting Susan G Komen is important as the funds support finding a cure for cancer, which currently impacts one out of eight women in their lifetime. My motivation to support this event is for my spiritual growth by helping others through the mission of In the Joy of Others and supporting Susan G Komen’s cause”, said Rakhee Patel of Southlake, a volunteer and cancer survivor, participated in the event along with her family.
“We are so proud of our partnership with BAPS [Charities] and as [they] are truly a servant-minded organization and [they] demonstrate that generosity every day,” said Paula Schneider, President and CEO of Susan G. Komen.”
Creating awareness by having Susan G Komen as a beneficiary is great as it impacts all communities. BAPS Charities has the best volunteer team, and may their spirit of service always soar to higher levels as the younger generation gets involved,” said Shabnamji from Radio Caravan. Hemal Patel, the event lead, shared that the volunteers have worked nonstop to ensure that the walk day was a success, and that the beneficiary received our best efforts in raising funds. “Seeing everything come together harmoniously is a true testament to the commitment of the volunteers, along with the partnership of the sponsors and walkers.”
Congressman Marc Veasey stated “The best thing I saw today was people coming together. BAPS Charities touches so many different communities and Susan G Komen funds and helps everyone regardless of where they live, race, religion, or income. There’s such a strong sense of togetherness which is so important right now. I’m always happy to support BAPS Charities because it’s such an awesome organization.”
