The keynote speaker Sangeeta Dua Kataria emphasized the significance of Hindu goddesses as repositories of cosmic power that manifest in various forms such as Durga, Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Kali— are manifestations of virtues and strengths that resonate with living experiences, struggles and achievements of women. Key points of her address included multifaceted roles that women play in all walks of life where there are opportunities to invoke the universal power of Shakti to meet the contemporary challenges. Giving an example to illustrate the point, she added that Goddess Durga inspires to confront adversity and struggle for justice. Contemporary political leaders such as Tulsi Gabbard, Giorgia Meloni and Claudia Sheinbaum reflect the divine feminine’s spirit, illustrating that empowerment is a composite outcome where education, opportunity for public role and pursuit of justice are deeply connected to spiritual invocation of the cosmic power of Shakti. Her speech called for women to channel the energy of the goddesses, to pursue their passions, and collectively foster a world where women’s strength is recognized and celebrated, ensuring that the cosmic power of these divine figures inspire future generations.
