NEW YORK (TIP): The perfect hosts, Ranju and Ravi Batra had perfect guests in Ambassador Mulay family. In the pleasant environs on August 3, the Batras had a large group of the best people around to welcome Ambassador Dyaneshwar Mulay, his consort Sadhna who prefers to have the last name Shanker rather than Mulay, and Agney Mulay. On hand were judges, politicians, businessmen and professionals from various walks of life.

Mrs. Sadhna Shanker arrived in New York only a couple of days ago after giving sleepless nights to her husband who felt compelled to compose poems assuring himself that she was on her way and would soon be with him. Well, Mr. Mulay proved prophetic. She came and with her came all the missed joys. Though I was out of town and could not attend I can imagine the kind of camaraderie and gaiety that may have pervaded the evening so beautifully and above all, lovingly, crafted by the best of hosts-the Batras.
