Paramita Tripathi is the new Deputy Consul General of India in New York

Paramita Tripathi is a career diplomat and served as deputy High Commissioner of India in Singapore

NEW YORK CITY (TIP): Paramita Tripathi, former First Secretary at the Indian High Commission in Singapore, has taken charge as the new Deputy Counsel General of India in New York. She succeeds Dr Manoj Kumar Mohapatra.

Mrs. Paramita Tripathi took up her assignment as the Deputy HighCommissioner in the High Commission of India, Singapore on 2nd December 2013.

She joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2001. In the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi, she worked at the Pakistan and the United Nations desks from February 2005 to September 2008, and again, prior to taking up her assignment in Singapore, in the East Asia Division, with her work focusing on Japan, China and Korea.

Mrs. Tripathi has served in Brussels (2003-2005), and in Tokyo (2008–2011).

She holds a Master’s Degree in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. She speaks English, Hindi, Bengali and French, in a functional way.
