NEW YORK(TIP): Tony Avella is not pleased with the passage in the Council of Mayor’s Affordable Housing plan.
The Senator says in a statement sent to The Indian Panorama: “The neighborhoods we once knew and loved? Kiss them goodbye. This administration has bullishly decided to ignore the ubiquitous opposition from community boards and residents alike, pushing through an extremely flawed affordable housing plan. Mayor de Blasio‘s Zoning for Quality and Affordability plan is one large game of Jenga and eventually the bricks come crashing down. Removing the parking requirements from development, failing to expand transit systems and infrastructure creates a hollow foundation. It is antithetical to good city planning because it is strictly a top down approach. Mayor de Blasio has only succeeded in creating affordable housing by building towering houses of cards.”
