The Sikh community took out an impressive parade in Manhattan, Saturday, April 25. The parade is taken out annually to celebrate the creation of Khalsa (birthday of the Sikhs). The Tenth Master of the Sikhs Guru Gobind Singh created Khalsa in 1699.
Thousands marched in the parade which started from 35 Street on Madison Avenue and terminated at 25 Street. A conference was held at which the community leaders gave out their message to the gathered Sikhs. Surprisingly, no administration official from NYC or State of New York turned up. The political leaders, too, were missing.
