Amsterdam (TIP): Dutch PM Mark Rutte on Monday condemned riots across the country in which demonstrators attacked police and set fires to protest against a night-time curfew to slow the Covid spread, calling them “criminal violence”. The police said hundreds of people had been detained after incidents that began on Saturday evening and lasted until Monday. Rioters hurled stones at cops and torched a Covid testing station. Meanwhile, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the firm would open up its US premises to serve as mass vaccination sites and committed over $150 million to promote vax education. — Agencies
